He also became something of a bully, mocking the faults and shortcomings of his fellow students, earning him more enemies than friends. When Arashi was eight, Arashi snuck out of his home to walk around the village at night, encountering Gai Hyūga in the training grounds. He challenged the young Hyūga to a sparring match and initially began to dominate his opponent, but his singular focus on beating him down and showing off his skill left him unaware of his surroundings, allowing a Takigakure missing-nin who had infiltrated the village to get the drop on them both. Terrified of the very real threat of a high-level enemy, he attempted to flee to the hills in a panic, driving Gai to vain attempts to protect him. Gai's continued efforts, despite the significant risk to himself, to protect Arashi inspired him to combine their efforts against their stronger opponent. Still, the duo was eventually overpowered, though their pursuer was dispatched by Enoki Hatake, who had witnessed the two fleeing from a rooftop and run to investigate. This also not only signified the end of Arashi's bullying mentality, but the beginning of a strong friendship between himself and Gai, declaring loudly on their next day at the Academy, "No one makes fun of his big, ugly centipede brows but me!" Personality[] Appearance[] Arashi bears a striking resemblance to his father, having Naruto's blue eyes and spiky hair. Initially to his embarrassment, he inherited the shape of his mother's face including her large forehead and her pink hair. In his early years at the Academy, Arashi was the shortest member of his circle of friends. By the time of his graduation, he was taller than every female in his graduating class and the same height as Kira Hatake. During his time in the Academy, he wore a simple white suit of clothing with orange trimmings and a hood. After becoming a full-fledged shinobi, he wore a sleeveless orange tracksuit with black around the waist, a red Uzumaki swirl crest on the back, and a black triangle shape on the upper chest extending up into a black hood which he would keep tightly drawn to conceal his hair. Arashi also wore a sleeveless blue T-shirt with mesh under-armour beneath inside his tracksuit, a black armband with a white swirl and tassel on his left bicep, a blue forehead protector, dark grey pants, and blue sandals. Personality[] Arashi's dominant traits have been shown to be cheerful, fearless, and blunt. He's rarely seen in a violent or somber mood unless greatly provoked. He also posseses a tendency to call out individuals and point out their flaws. Even at a younger age, Arashi displayed boundless amounts of courage, more than enough to where his father felt the need to teach him about the difference between courage and foolishness. Arashi vehemently believes that nothing is impossible nor is anything guaranteed. Appearance[] Arashi is a fair skinned boy with vibrant red hair not unlike his parents or majority of his clan. He posseses a well-built frame and average height for his age. Overall, he bears a great resemblance to his father, as he also posseses his father's purple eyes and two whisker-like marks due to his father's status as a jinchūriki of Kurama. At age 5, Arashi wore a black jumpsuit with purple designs on the side and a red emblem similar to that of the Will of Fire's logo. By the time he's in the Academy, Arashi wore a blue short hoodie over a long-sleeved white shirt and dark pants. Following his graduation, Arashi would wear a dark blue outfit with the top open above a white shirt and the Uzumaki clan's crest emblazoned on the back. Arashi first appeared in the Land of Rice Fields Investigation Mission arc in Naruto. The Fuma clan fought in a war and wanted to settle down. Orochimaru and Kimimaro promised to help restore their power if they joined. Otogakure decided to join hands with Orochimaru alongside Jigumo, Kamikiri, Kotohime, and Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, and Sasame found him, Arashi pretended to be Orochimaru. He killed his fellow clan members, Jigumo and Kamikiri, and used a technique called Casualty Puppet to gain more power, but it drove him insane. During the fight, Naruto removed the puppet corpses from Arashi's back and returned him to his senses. However, the fight caused the hideout to collapse, and Arashi chose to stay behind with his puppets, accepting that he would die either way.

The three of them passed the first round along with many of the others. During the second round which consisted of capturing other teams flags, Hiroshi went ahead with his sister to find the other teams flags while their teammate stayed behind to guard their flag. They were seen laughing, clearly excited that they passed the second round. When the final round of the exams began, Hiroshi was put against a Kunoichi from Kirigakure. He was able to beat her by using his Sharingan to copy her jutsu and use it against her. When the proctor announced the winner as Hiroshi, his parents cheered loudly from the stands, causing him to blush from pride and embarrassment. Hiroshi watched with everyone else as Boruto went against Shikadai and was disappointed, as well as disgusted, when his cousin was cheating and had been disqualified. When the attack from Momoshiki and Kinshiki started, Hiroshi helped his sister and parents evacuate the arena and kept his cousin and younger brother safe.
